Abstract

This study aimed to characterize the nursing professional care in the Family Health Strategy directed to pediatric care, in order to integrate the team and qualify the information to family members. This is an observational, descriptive study of a cross-sectional cohort, involving 102 subjects, which quantitatively analyzes the data collected through a questionnaire with 12 questions on nursing care, obtaining opinions from those responsible for children up to five years of age attended at the pediatric clinic of a Basic Health Unit. Among respondents, 92.86% received nursing care before the pediatric consultation; 96.94% of the respondents felt safe with the accompanying nurse, and 95.92% were instructed in the aspects they needed regarding child care. When asked about the overall assessment from team care, 46.94% said it was excellent, 46.94% found it good, and 6.12% regular. The interprofessional model contributed to the improvement of team performance, and to health promotion, aiming to improve quality of the work process and child care.
