Analysis of the acceptability of a Histology book for drawing and coloring

Abstract

Histology is one of the foundations of biological sciences. Drawing/painting histological images can help understanding the contents of this area. The goal of this work is to verify students' impressions about Tome I of the Book: Histology for coloring – meaning drawing and coloring in histology: Epithelial tissue. The volume I of a scientific textbook was prepared and quantitative descriptive exploratory research was carried out. About the presentation, clarity, size of the images, understanding, contribution and indication. Survey participants were satisfied with the product considering the criteria: text clarity and size of images/drawings. The histological images helped to recognize the tissues in the illustrations which, when painted, allowed a better understanding of the structure of the tissue and its design. The reception of the product was positive and it is believed that this material can be valuable for learning histology.
