The attention to adolescent health is ensured by law, on an attribution to be developed by the Family Health Strategy (ESF). This study aimed to characterize the planning and execution of the Health Permanent Education (EPS) Strategies, that intents to better qualify the ESF professionals; to describe the managers vision about their capacity to work with adolescent health in a comprehensive reform and to verify the knowledge about the health ministry manuals about the subject. It is a qualitative research that used a semi-structured interview for data collection with six managers of the Family Health Units (USF) located in the East Zone of São Paulo. Data analysis and results presentation is given by categories of analysis properly substantiated from theoretical base. We found out that the units professional are not trained to care for comprehensive health of adolescents. Motivation, interest and affinity for certain life cycle or theme seems to guide the training of these professionals. The local managers showed little knowledge related to EPS concepts and about their responsibilities in its implementation. There is a need to deploy locally EPS, turning the education and training moments more participatory, questioning the everyday and the local reality, respecting the professional knowledge and skills acquired through practices, broaching the adolescents health in a fully and effectively form.Downloads
