This study investigates the nursing team's perception of the impact of family participation in pediatric care during hospitalization. Exploratory, descriptive study with a quantitative approach, the study included 30 professionals from a pediatric hospital in Curitiba, who responded to a structured questionnaire. The results indicate that family participation is seen as beneficial, contributing to treatment adherence, patient safety and reduced child stress. Of the benefits highlighted, the prevention of medication errors (100%) and emotional support (83.3%) stand out. However, challenges such as communication breakdowns were reported by 3.3% of participants. The research concludes that family involvement is
crucial for the quality of pediatric care and highlights the need for strategies that promote effective collaboration between the nursing team and families, contributing to humanized and effective care.
