Abstract

This study aimed to investigate understanding of anesthesiologists regarding the practice of receiving and investigating how anesthesiologists realize the reception in their professional practice. This is an exploratory study descriptive, qualitative, conducted at University Hospital Lauro Wanderley (HULW), Federal University of Paraíba. The sample consisted of sixteen anesthesiologists. Empirical data were collected by interview technique during the months of September and October 2010. The study was approved by the Ethics in Research of HULW. The data obtained were analyzed through a qualitative approach in the light of the technique of the Collective Subject Discourse.
